For starters. It is now called Bella Vista, but the page isn't updated. If you see Bella Vista, that's what people are talking about.
Let's start with the good. The rooms I've had both were well decorated and clean with fresh towels and shampoo if you needed it. The location is quiet, and exactly what you'd expect for the very cheap price. Rooms has a small flat screen with basic no frills cable. Each room is themed a little different but I think it adds a little character. From the outside it did feel like the "no tell motel" but once you're inside, it's quite quaint.
Both times we've run into separate issues. The first time we stayed we had no cable tv, but a quick room switch solved that problem. The second stay, the shower head was awful, and it drained so slowly you could easily flood it. Both times the wifi never worked or it was so bad signal we could never connect.
I recently attended a wedding at Hersel s. The food at the wedding was excellent and well put together. The chalets and penthouse that I saw were in excellent condition. Both had brand new visio TVs in them. The service was great and the team there was very friendly. The resort appears to be several 1970ish motel rooms. We saw Hersel put a lot of money back into the resort to constantly be updating his resort. I don t understand why people are getting bent out of shape on here about the rooms. They were great. Hersel was very accommodating. Great vacation.
Very disappointed. Couldn't be supplied with clean towels, filthy dirty, smelled awful. There was a hole in our door, very uncomfortable beds. The surrounding guest had similar issues, feces on toilet, mold in the bathroom. I highly suggest you to take my word for it and keep looking. Not worth the money!!!!!!!!!!!!
This "hotel" does not deserve a single star. We checked in to a smokey smelling, dirty "suite" with stained sheets, a broken window, and no AC. We complained and they changed the sheets, but the "new" sheets had more stains on them than the first sets, and they merely sealed the broken window shut (read: fire hazard). We complained again about these sheets and the air as it was extremely muggy and hot, and were told that there was nothing else that could be done. We asked to change rooms but they allegedly had no vacancies and told us that they could not accommodate us. When we asked for a refund or partial refund, our keys were yanked from us and we were told we we were checking out without a refund. When we asked to speak to the manager, the "owner" named "Hershel" called us at the front office, accused us of smoking pot, and told us we better leave the premise as he was calling the police. I'm not sure if that is how they deal with unhappy customers or if that was really the "owner", but I can assure you the only people smoking pot were the people who would actually risk their health staying in that type of establishment. I'm just glad we weren't there long enough to catch anything. We will be taking up the refund issue with our credit card company, as the room was completely uninhabitable.
There's plenty of negative reviews for sure, and some of them are probably deserved. But bare with me as I go through this as this is our second time staying here.
Hersel's Lounge smells of mold. The entire place, other than dance floor and bathroom is carpeted with carpet that is clearly 20+ years old. Absolutely disgusting.
